It all began with receiving a call from Narayan, our Team Director with whom I had been working with, for a Startup Company called The Next Generation as a part of the Human Resource Department. He one fine day called me after office hours and I said “I want to tell you about this amazing opportunity and I wanted you to be a part of this.” and explained the competition, process, and what we are looking forward to. Since I haven’t had much experience with Information technology nor did I have exceptional knowledge with regards to STEM, I was quite dubious at first. Though being a strong believer of ‘when an opportunity lands at your feet, you should be open-minded and give it your all.’ I said yes.

Now I often think, Isn’t it weird, the closer we are to the end, the farther we are from the start. The qualifiers are going to happen soon, sooner than any of us anticipated, or let’s just put it this way, time flies. Over the past several days the formation of the team, introducing ourselves, getting a group identity, coming up with the name Aquila, connecting over virtual platforms, figuring out a place for our office, shifting into our office, having our own spaces in it and now moving towards the qualifiers. Sometimes I find myself feeling overwhelmed by how fast each second could pass when you are around people-driven with the same energy you are.

I hear a silent prayer each time Rigved is about to run his new prototype in the CAM software. I see the fire in Vansh’s eye when his imagination comes out on paper. I feel the happiness in Narayan’s laugh each time we all are working together putting in our best efforts. If I must say so, this team has changed each one of us, our perspectives, our motivation, our dedication, there are so many things just more to it than this.
The contributed effort to be using fewer resources, wisely, being sustainable, being environment friendly, and yet trying to be the best.

F1 in Schools competition is more than just an opportunity, it’s a change which each one of us is looking forward to. Things have been hectic, confusing at times but all for better than worse. Being optimistic and focused has always been the key.
